Vizwriting catch-up replays recent broadcasts from an archive held on the server, so a program you missed on a live channel can still be watched from the beginning. It comes with every plan, but it works channel by channel: some channels are archived, many are not, and each keeps programs for its own length of time. For people who watch to find things out, it earns its place in two moments: the evening bulletin that started before you sat down, and the documentary that began during dinner.
How Vizwriting replay works when you go back in time
Nothing is saved on your television; the player asks the server for an earlier point in a channel’s broadcast.
- The channel is captured as it airs. For each channel with catch-up, the server keeps a running copy of the feed, indexed by time.
- The guide supplies the start time. Select a finished listing and the player sends the channel and the minute that program began.
- The oldest hours roll off. New material joins at one end and leaves at the other, so what replays on a Tuesday is not what replayed the Saturday before.
A guide running an hour out therefore drops you into the wrong part of the evening, and because the window moves, catch-up suits what aired recently.
Which channels carry catch-up, and for how long
Only channels marked as archived, each for its own period. There is no set number of days, which is why this page never quotes one; archives are configured per channel and can change.
The dependable signal is on your screen: in a player that understands catch-up, an archived channel usually carries a small clock, rewind or archive symbol by its name or in the grid. Unmarked channels still show their past schedule, but an old entry there will not play.
During the Vizwriting free trial, open the news desks and factual channels you would want to rewind and check each for a marker; support on WhatsApp can also confirm whether a named channel is archived.
Finding the replay marker in TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro
Catch-up needs a player that supports it and a sign-in that says which channels are archived. The Xtream Codes login (username, password and server URL) passes that along; a bare M3U link often leaves it out, which explains most cases where replay never turns up.
TiviMate
Open the TV guide. In recent versions an archived channel shows a small icon by its name. Move the cursor left of the present moment, highlight a program that has ended and press select to play it from the start. If TiviMate is new to you, follow our steps to set up Vizwriting in TiviMate, which use the Xtream Codes sign-in.
IPTV Smarters Pro
The home screen opens on Live TV, Movies and Series, and some versions add a Catch Up tile beside them: choose a channel, a date, then the program. Versions without the tile reach earlier listings through the EPG layout of Live TV, if your player version offers it. The IPTV Smarters Pro sign-in walkthrough shows where the details go.
Other apps are uneven; plenty list yesterday’s programs without playing them. If a marked channel will not replay in one, try the same login in TiviMate or Smarters.
Following a story after it has aired
Catch-up does not replace watching live; it rescues the part you were late for.
The bulletin that started without you
You get in at twenty past nine, a third of the way into the 9 p.m. bulletin. If that news channel is archived, open its row in the guide, step back to nine o’clock and begin with the opening headlines. If it is not, the next hourly bulletin is often the quicker answer.
One event, two news desks
When something happens abroad, some viewers like to set a broadcaster from that country beside the one they watch at home: watch your usual evening news live, then go back to the same hour on a second desk, if that channel keeps an archive.
The documentary that began during dinner
Say a factual channel starts a two-part series on volcanoes at 8 p.m. and you sit down at 8:40. On an archived channel, go back and run it from the opening titles. If part two airs another night, check the window before counting on part one still being there.
Whole factual series and feature-length films are different: browse the Vizwriting documentary shelves in the on-demand library, where nothing is tied to a broadcast time.
Catch-up, the on-demand library or a TiviMate recording
Catch-up for recent broadcasts, the library for anything without a schedule, a recording for the program you want to keep.
| Question | Catch-up | On-demand library | TiviMate recording |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where the program sits | The server’s archive for that channel | Movies and Series sections, 120,000+ titles | A file on your device or attached drive |
| How long you have | Until it ages out of the channel’s window | No broadcast time, no deadline | Until you delete it |
| What it needs | A catch-up player and the Xtream Codes login | A player with on-demand sections, such as IPTV Smarters Pro | TiviMate Premium, or any player with a record button, plus free space |
Each uses a stream while it plays, and a recording keeps one connection busy while it runs, so a one-connection plan cannot record one channel and show another.
When Vizwriting catch up shows nothing
The rows run from the most common cause to the least.
| What you see | Likely reason | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No replay marker on any channel | The account came from the M3U link, or the player lacks catch-up | Re-add it with the Xtream Codes login; if nothing changes, try TiviMate or Smarters |
| A marker, but older programs will not start | They have aged out of that channel’s window | Play a program from this morning on it; if that works, the older one has expired |
| The replay opens in the middle of something else | The device clock or time zone is off | Correct the clock, then any guide offset in the player |
| An empty grid, nothing to select | The program guide has not loaded | Load or refresh the guide, then try again |
| Marked channel, recent program, still nothing | Something on our side | Send the channel, program and time on WhatsApp |
Loading, refreshing and time zones are covered on the page about the Vizwriting TV guide and EPG. If the live channels stall or the login is refused, the archive is not the problem; go through what to check when Vizwriting is not working first.
Replay one program before you pay
Ask for the 24-hour trial, open the news and factual channels you follow, and go back to something that aired this morning.
Questions about Vizwriting catch up
Does Vizwriting include catch-up TV?
Yes. Every plan includes catch-up, and it applies to the channels the server copies into a rolling archive. On one of those, a player that supports the feature runs an earlier program from its opening minute; on other channels, past listings are for reading only.
How many days back does Vizwriting replay go?
No single number applies. Each archived channel holds its own stretch of past programs, the oldest hours drop away as new ones arrive, and the length is set channel by channel. Look for the replay marker in your player, or ask support on WhatsApp about a named channel.
Can I watch the evening news I missed on Vizwriting?
Often you can, if the news channel you follow is archived and the bulletin is still inside its window. Go to that channel’s row in the guide, move back to the hour the bulletin began and select it; a catch-up player opens it at the first headline.
Is Vizwriting catch-up the same as recording a show?
They are different tools. A replay streams from the archive kept on our servers, takes no space at home and disappears once the program passes out of the channel’s window. Recording writes a copy to your own storage that stays until you remove it; in TiviMate that needs Premium, and it keeps one connection busy while it runs.
Why does Vizwriting catch-up show nothing on my TV?
The usual culprit is how the account was added. An M3U playlist often arrives without the archive details, so the player never offers replay. Add the account again with the Xtream Codes username, password and server URL. If replay is still missing, check the channel’s marker and the guide’s hours.
