Vizwriting – Factual TV for the curious: documentaries, science, history and news

Vizwriting straight on a Samsung or LG television through the Smart IPTV app

Smart IPTV lets a Samsung or LG television play Vizwriting with nothing plugged into it, which suits a kitchen set kept on the news or a bedroom TV used for a nature program before sleep. It is a lean list player: channels arrive in groups, the guide sits beside them, and where your version offers favorites, the bulletins you want stay near the top. Two things make it unusual. It has no login screen: instead you send your M3U link to the developer’s website, filed under the MAC shown in the app, and the TV picks it up from there. And once its trial is over it asks for a single activation charge for each television, which goes to the app’s developer, not to us. On Samsung the store offers it from the 2022 models (Tizen 6.5+) onward, and on LG from webOS 3.0.

Parts list for this setup

  • Samsung: a 2022 model or newer (Tizen 6.5+); LG: webOS 3.0 and up
  • The M3U link from your Vizwriting activation message
  • Any browser on a phone or computer, to reach the upload page
  • A one-time Smart IPTV activation per TV, charged by the app developer after a trial

Set aside about 12 minutes. Nothing to type in yet? The Vizwriting 24-hour trial sends working details to WhatsApp. A paid term uses exactly the same format, so nothing here is redone after you buy.

The Smart IPTV setup, in eight steps

  1. Copy the M3U link into a note first

Start on the phone, not the TV. Open the activation message in the WhatsApp chat, copy the M3U link and paste it into a plain note. Check it arrived as one unbroken line: it begins http://, contains get.php, and carries your username and password inside it. Messaging apps sometimes wrap long links, and a link cut in two is the most common reason an upload fails. Keep the note open for step three.

Line up a login: terms from $15

  2. Install Smart IPTV and write down its MAC

On the television, open the Samsung or LG app store, find Smart IPTV by name, install it and launch it one time. The first screen displays a MAC address that identifies this app on this TV; it is the value the playlist will be filed under, whatever the TV’s own network settings may show. Write it down or take a photo, because the next step happens on the phone.

  3. File the link under that MAC at siptv.app/mylist

In the phone’s browser, open siptv.app/mylist. Type the MAC exactly, six pairs separated by colons, and drop the M3U link into the box for the playlist URL. Switch on the Keep online option, which tells the TV to re-read the link each time it starts, and leave settings you do not recognize at their defaults. Send it, and wait for the page to confirm the list was accepted.

  4. Close the app fully and reopen it

Back on the TV, exit Smart IPTV completely rather than pressing Home, which on some sets leaves it running in the background. Open it again and it fetches the playlist. A list this size needs a minute or so the first time; wait for the groups to draw before pressing anything, or the app may seem frozen when it is still reading.

  5. Walk to the news groups and mark favorites

Open the group list and move through it to the news categories for the countries you follow, then on to the factual and nature groups. Where your version offers favorites, mark the channels you check each day so they gather in one place; the app handles a short list far better than a long scroll. Note the channel numbers of two or three bulletins as well, since the number keys on the remote reach them instantly.

  6. Read now and next from the guide panel

With a news channel playing, open the info bar or the guide panel (the button varies by TV brand) to see the current program and the one that follows. That is how you catch the start of the hour without sitting through the end of something else. If the panel is blank on every channel, the guide has not loaded yet; the fix is further down this page.

  7. Activate the app when the trial ends

Smart IPTV runs free for a trial period; after that, this television needs a one-time activation. The fee is paid on the developer’s site at siptv.app, set by the developer and kept by them; Vizwriting does not sell it and takes no share. Every television is activated separately, against its own MAC. Your subscription is a different payment, made in the WhatsApp chat.

  8. Finish with a 4K nature channel and an HD bulletin

Last, play a 4K factual channel, then an HD news channel, a minute each. The TV’s own processor does the decoding here, and this is where a weak Wi-Fi radio shows itself. If the HD channel is smooth and the 4K one stutters, a network cable to the TV usually settles it. For a second television, repeat steps two to seven with that set’s own MAC.

Once it plays: where the factual side lives

With the player signed in, the rest is finding things. Live channels arrive in groups, and the on-demand library keeps non-fiction on shelves of its own; the Vizwriting documentaries and news channels page explains how both are arranged. What airs next on most channels, the 9 p.m. bulletin included, is in the Vizwriting program guide. A bulletin that aired an hour ago can often be replayed through catch-up, on the channels that carry it.

Smart IPTV faults, by what the screen shows

The site says sent, but the TV shows the old screen

First make sure the app was closed fully, not just hidden behind the Home screen. If that is not it, the list went to a different MAC: in a house with two TVs it is easy to upload against the bedroom set’s address by mistake. Compare the MAC on this screen with what you typed, send the list again, and reopen the app.

The upload page rejects the MAC

It expects six pairs of characters separated by colons, and every character is either a number or a letter between A and F. A letter O or I is a misreading of 0 or 1. Use the address shown inside Smart IPTV, which is the one the playlist is filed under; if the TV’s network settings show a different value, ignore it for this purpose.

Every channel plays, but the guide panel stays empty

Give it a few minutes after the first load, then reopen the app. If it is still blank, send the list again from siptv.app/mylist with EPG detection ticked, where the page shows that option. If the page has a separate guide field, ask in the WhatsApp chat for your xmltv.php address and paste that in.

A second television asks for activation again

That is how the app’s activation works: each one belongs to a single TV, matched to its MAC. The same M3U link can be uploaded to both sets, but each needs its own activation, and the number playing together is capped by your plan’s connections.

The channels stop after details are reissued

If your login is ever reissued, the old link stops working and the TV keeps trying it. Upload the new M3U link under the same MAC and reopen the app; the activation is unaffected. A normal renewal is different: the link stays the same and nothing needs doing on the TV.

Nothing above matches? A photo of the screen sent on WhatsApp usually settles it faster than a description, and the Vizwriting not-working page covers faults that are not tied to one device.

Documentaries and the news, one login away

News desks and factual networks among 25,000+ live channels, a 120,000+ title library with non-fiction shelves, and details on WhatsApp in under 15 minutes.

Asked about Vizwriting and Smart IPTV

Which Samsung and LG TVs can run Vizwriting through Smart IPTV?

Samsung televisions from the 2022 model year onward, on Tizen 6.5 or later, and LG televisions on webOS 3.0 or later. On those sets the app plays the M3U link with nothing plugged in. Older Samsung models do not get Smart IPTV; for them, plugging a streaming stick into an HDMI input works instead, and Vizwriting on a Samsung TV sets out the options.

Who gets paid for the Smart IPTV activation?

The app’s developer, never us. After the trial, Smart IPTV charges a one-time fee for each television on the developer’s own site, at a price the developer sets, and Vizwriting takes no part in that sale. The subscription itself is a separate purchase in the WhatsApp chat; it buys the channels and titles, while the activation buys the app.

Does Smart IPTV show the program guide for Vizwriting channels?

Yes, it normally reads the guide for the playlist by itself, so news channels show the current program and the next. If the guide stays blank, send the list again with EPG detection ticked on the upload page, where offered. The Vizwriting TV guide page explains where the listings come from and why a few channels carry none.

Is the M3U upload to siptv.app safe?

Your username and password are part of the link, so handle it as you would a password. The upload page stores the link under your TV’s MAC, which is simply how the app collects its playlist. Send it from a phone or computer you own rather than a shared one, never post it anywhere, and if you think it has leaked, ask in the WhatsApp chat for new details.

Smart IPTV or a streaming stick for documentaries?

For live news and factual channels, Smart IPTV is enough. For browsing documentaries on demand, a stick does better: in Smart IPTV, on-demand titles, where the link includes them, appear as plain entries in a group, without separate sections or season lists. A Fire OS or Android stick running IPTV Smarters Pro gives them Movies and Series sections, and the Vizwriting documentary line-up shows how they are organized.
