Parts list for this setup
- Your M3U link, which sits in the same WhatsApp message as the Xtream login
- VLC on a computer, Kodi with its IPTV Simple Client add-on, or a TV player such as Smart IPTV
- For Kodi and similar players, the xmltv.php guide address (ask in the chat)
Set aside about 7 minutes. Nothing to type in yet? The Vizwriting 24-hour trial sends working details to WhatsApp. A paid term uses exactly the same format, so nothing here is redone after you buy.
The M3U playlist setup, in seven steps
Check the link is whole before using it
Copy the M3U link from the activation message into a plain note. It should be a single line: http://, the server and port, then get.php with username= and password= values attached, and sometimes a type and output setting after them. Leave those as sent, because they decide whether group labels and logos come through. A link broken across two lines by a messaging app fails in every player.
Know what one entry looks like
Each channel takes two lines in the file. The first starts #EXTINF and carries the details: a tvg-id that matches the program guide, a logo address, a group-title such as a country’s news group, and the channel name after a comma. The second line is the stream address. You never need to edit any of it, but knowing the shape explains a lot: the folders a player shows are those group titles, and a channel with no listings usually has no guide match for its tvg-id.
Test it in VLC on a computer
VLC is the quickest proof that the link works. On Windows open Media, then Open Network Stream; on a Mac, File, then Open Network. Paste the link, then Play. Expect a short pause while it reads thousands of entries, then use the search box above the playlist to type news, or a channel name, and the list narrows to match. There is no guide grid in VLC, so treat it as a test bench and a laptop player.
Load it into Kodi through IPTV Simple Client
Kodi needs one add-on: PVR IPTV Simple Client, listed among the PVR clients in Kodi’s own repository under Add-ons. Once it is installed, go into its configuration and, under General, change Location from Local path to the remote option, then paste the link into M3U playlist URL. Enable the add-on and restart Kodi; channels appear under TV, sorted into the playlist’s groups. Kodi’s channel manager can also build groups of your own, such as a News group of the six desks you check daily.
Hand it to a TV app when no computer is involved
Smart IPTV on Samsung and LG sets never asks you to type the link: you upload it at siptv.app/mylist against the MAC the app displays, as the Smart IPTV guide shows. Other TV players vary, and some take a playlist URL directly in their settings, often labeled Add playlist or M3U URL. Type it on the TV only when there is no alternative, because a long link and a remote are a poor combination.
Pair the playlist with the guide address
A playlist carries channels, not listings. Players that read M3U usually want the guide separately: the same server and port, then xmltv.php carrying the same username and password. Kodi takes it in the add-on’s EPG tab, in the XMLTV URL field. Listings attach to channels by tvg-id, so once both are loaded, news channels show the current bulletin and the next one.
Reload the playlist after any change of details
Players keep a copy of the list. If your details are ever reissued, replace the link everywhere it is used: in VLC open it again, in Kodi change the URL in the add-on and restart, and for Smart IPTV upload it again under the same MAC. A simple renewal changes nothing, so after paying for a new term the existing link carries on as before.
Once it plays: where the factual side lives
With the player signed in, the rest is finding things. Live channels arrive in groups, and the on-demand library keeps non-fiction on shelves of its own; the Vizwriting documentaries and news channels page explains how both are arranged. What airs next on most channels, the 9 p.m. bulletin included, is in the Vizwriting program guide. A bulletin that aired an hour ago can often be replayed through catch-up, on the channels that carry it.
M3U playlist faults, by what the screen shows
Opening the link in a browser just saves a file
Nothing is broken. Opened in a web browser, get.php returns the playlist as a text file, usually saved to Downloads, because a browser is not a player. Delete the downloaded file, since it contains your login, and paste the link into VLC, Kodi or your TV player instead.
Everything lands in one enormous group
Either the player ignores group labels or the link was generated without them. VLC shows a flat list whatever the file says, so rely on its search box there. In Kodi and TV players, groups appear when the entries carry group-title tags; if yours do not, ask in the WhatsApp chat for the link in the full playlist format.
The guide fills for some channels and not others
Listings attach to channels through the tvg-id in each entry. Where a channel has no matching ID in the guide, or its source sends no listings, the row stays empty while the channel plays normally. Check two or three major news channels: if those show listings, the guide is working and the gaps belong to individual channels.
Channels freeze every few seconds in VLC
VLC keeps only a small buffer for network streams by default. Open Tools, then Preferences, switch the view to All, find the network caching value under Input and Codecs, and raise it to around 3,000 milliseconds. Restart VLC and reopen the link. If a channel still stalls while others play, send its name in the WhatsApp chat.
Nothing above matches? A photo of the screen sent on WhatsApp usually settles it faster than a description, and the Vizwriting not-working page covers faults that are not tied to one device.

Asked about Vizwriting and M3U playlist
Where is my Vizwriting M3U link?
In the WhatsApp chat, in the same activation message as your Xtream Codes login. It is a single address ending in get.php with your username and password attached. If you cannot find it, ask in the chat and it is sent again. Keep it private: the link alone is enough for someone else to use your connections.
What is the Vizwriting EPG URL for an M3U player?
It is the server and port from your login, then xmltv.php, carrying your username and password. Players signed in through Xtream Codes pick it up automatically; it only needs typing into playlist players such as Kodi’s IPTV Simple Client. Ask in the chat for it ready to paste, and see how the Vizwriting TV guide works for what the listings cover.
Which suits Vizwriting better, the M3U link or the Xtream login?
Pick the Xtream route if your player has one, and keep the playlist for players that lack it. Xtream gives the player the guide, catch-up on the channels that carry it and any on-demand sections without extra addresses; the M3U carries the same account as one list. The Vizwriting login guide explains the three Xtream fields.
Can I open the Vizwriting M3U in a web browser?
Not to watch it. A browser downloads the playlist as a text file instead of playing anything, and that file holds your login, so delete it afterward. Paste the link into a player instead: VLC on a computer is the quickest test, and Kodi or a TV app suits regular viewing.
Does the M3U link carry documentaries on demand?
Usually the playlist is built around live channels, and whether on-demand titles are in it depends on your link, which the WhatsApp chat can confirm. For documentaries, the Xtream login in a player with separate Movies and Series sections is the better way in, with search and season lists. Vizwriting documentaries and factual channels shows what the on-demand side holds.
