Parts list for this setup
- A Fire TV Stick, Stick Lite, Stick 4K or 4K Max, a Fire TV Cube or a Fire TV Edition television, running Fire OS (not the 4K Select)
- Your Vizwriting login (username, password, server URL), as sent on WhatsApp
- Wi-Fi that reaches the back of the TV well, or Amazon’s Ethernet adapter
- Some free storage on the stick: uninstall apps nobody has opened in months
Set aside about 12 minutes. Nothing to type in yet? The Vizwriting 24-hour trial sends working details to WhatsApp. A paid term uses exactly the same format, so nothing here is redone after you buy.
The Firestick setup, in eight steps
Read three lines on the About screen
Open About, which lives inside My Fire TV in Settings. Three entries there decide the rest of this guide. The model name comes first: should it read Fire TV Stick 4K Select, that stick runs Vega OS, with no Downloader and no sideloading, so check whether its Appstore lists any player taking Xtream details and, if not, give Vizwriting a different device. The software entry should name Fire OS, which means every step below applies. Storage is the third: if it is nearly full, remove a few unused apps now, since a guide for thousands of channels needs room.
Wake the hidden developer menu
Stay on About and move the highlight to the top row, the one carrying your stick’s name. Give the select button seven presses in a row. A short message tells you that you are now a developer, and a Developer Options entry appears under My Fire TV, one level up. Amazon hides it by default on current Fire OS releases; revealing it changes nothing about the stick, your Amazon account or your other apps.
Install Downloader and let it install players
Use the search on the home screen, under Find on current menus, and look up Downloader. Pick the orange one from AFTVnews, then install it, open it once and allow storage access when asked. Then open Developer Options under My Fire TV, choose Install unknown apps, and turn Downloader on. Older Fire OS releases show a single switch called Apps from Unknown Sources instead of the per-app list, and turning that on covers every app at once.
Pick the player for how you follow the news
TiviMate is built around live channels and the program guide. While a channel plays, up and down on the remote’s ring usually step to the neighboring channel, which is how a news watcher hops from one desk to the next, and its Premium tier adds favorites, hidden groups, recording and multi-view. IPTV Smarters Pro is free and splits an Xtream login into Live TV, Movies and Series, which puts the documentary shelves of the on-demand library a click away. Many households install both, which is fine on a one-connection plan provided they never play simultaneously.
Fetch the player with Downloader
Open Downloader on its Home tab and select the address box. Type the download address of the player you picked: support sends it in your WhatsApp chat, or take it from the developer’s own website. Press Go and let the progress bar run to the end. When the installer screen opens, choose Install, then Done. Downloader then offers to delete the installation file; accept, because the stick’s storage is small and the file has done its job.
Sign the player in
Sideloaded apps never appear on the front row. Hold the Home button until a small menu opens, choose Apps, and find the player in the grid; to keep it handy, highlight it, press the menu button with three lines and move it to the front, where your Fire OS version offers that. IPTV Smarters Pro calls the option Login with Xtream Codes API; TiviMate puts it under Add playlist, then Xtream Codes. Enter the username, password and server URL from WhatsApp, with http:// at the start of the server and its port number at the end. The first sync collects the channel list and the guide data, so give it a minute or two on that screen.
Build a news row and a factual row
Favorites are what make a stick without a number pad pleasant to use with a line-up this large. Search for each news channel you follow, BBC News, Sky News, CNN or NHK World for example, and add it to favorites: in IPTV Smarters Pro a long press on select usually brings up the option, and in TiviMate favorites belong to Premium. Then add the factual networks you return to, such as National Geographic, Discovery or History. Six to ten of each is plenty. When a story breaks, you can then move between three news desks in seconds instead of paging through a whole country group.
Finish with the guide and one replay
Open the program guide and check that a news channel shows tonight’s schedule, including its next bulletin. Then find a channel whose guide entries carry a catch-up mark, often a small clock or rewind symbol, and play something that aired earlier today, if your player offers catch-up. When both work, the stick is ready. If the guide is still empty, wait ten minutes and refresh it from the player’s settings before suspecting the login.
Once it plays: where the factual side lives
With the player signed in, the rest is finding things. Live channels arrive in groups, and the on-demand library keeps non-fiction on shelves of its own; the Vizwriting documentaries and news channels page explains how both are arranged. What airs next on most channels, the 9 p.m. bulletin included, is in the Vizwriting program guide. A bulletin that aired an hour ago can often be replayed through catch-up, on the channels that carry it.
Firestick faults, by what the screen shows
Downloader does not come up in the Appstore search
Almost always this is a Fire TV Stick 4K Select, or another device running Vega OS, where Downloader is not offered and sideloading is closed. Confirm the model name under My Fire TV, About. On that model the options are an Appstore player that takes Xtream details, if one is listed, or a different device for that television, such as a Fire OS stick or a Google TV device.
Developer Options lists ADB debugging but no install switch
Current Fire OS moved the permission into a list of apps. Open Install unknown apps inside Developer Options and switch on the entry for Downloader. The single global switch, Apps from Unknown Sources, belongs to earlier Fire OS releases, so its absence on a newer stick is normal rather than a fault.
The guide reads No information on every news channel
The player has the channel list but not yet the program data, which arrives separately and takes longer on a first run. Leave the stick on for ten minutes, then use the update or refresh option in the player’s guide settings. If a few channels stay blank while the rest fill in, those channels simply carry no schedule data; the pictures themselves are unaffected.
One news channel freezes on a still frame while others play
A single channel stalling while its neighbors play points to that feed, not to the stick or your connection. Try it again in a few minutes, or play another version of it if its group lists one in a different quality. If it stays frozen, send the channel name on WhatsApp so support can check the source.
Every channel stutters after 8 p.m. but not at lunchtime
Evening congestion on the home Wi-Fi is the usual cause, when every phone and laptop in the house is busy at once. Move the stick onto your router’s 5 GHz band where there is one, fit the short HDMI extender cable Amazon packs with the stick, which moves it away from the TV’s back panel, or fit Amazon’s Ethernet adapter. A weekly restart from My Fire TV also helps.
The player opens to a blank screen after an update
Open Settings, Applications, Manage Installed Applications, pick the player and use Clear cache. If it still opens blank, use Clear data as well and sign in again with the Vizwriting details from WhatsApp. Favorites stored inside that player will need rebuilding afterwards, which takes a couple of minutes with search.
Nothing above matches? A photo of the screen sent on WhatsApp usually settles it faster than a description, and the Vizwriting not-working page covers faults that are not tied to one device.

Asked about Vizwriting on Firestick
Does Vizwriting work on every Fire TV Stick?
It works on every Fire TV device running Fire OS: the basic stick, the Lite, the 4K, the 4K Max, the Cube and Fire TV Edition televisions. The exception is the Fire TV Stick 4K Select, which runs Vega OS and cannot sideload, so it can only use a player listed in its own Appstore. The Lite and the basic stick output 1080p at most.
Is there a Vizwriting app in the Amazon Appstore?
No. Vizwriting is a login, not an app, so a store listing or a file carrying the name did not come from us. Install IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate or another player and type in the details from your WhatsApp chat. If someone sends you a file claiming to be the Vizwriting app, ask in the chat before opening it.
Can a Firestick show two news channels at once?
Only with a player that offers it and a plan that allows it. TiviMate Premium has a multi-view mode that places several channels on one screen, but every picture is a separate stream, so two channels need a plan with at least two connections. A Fire TV Stick may also struggle to decode several HD pictures together, so start with two.
How do I switch news channels quickly with a Fire TV remote?
Keep the news channels in one favorites list and step through it. In TiviMate, up and down on the ring usually move to the neighboring channel while one plays, so a favorites list of five news desks becomes a five-press loop. In most other players, select or left during playback opens the channel list over the picture. Fire TV remotes have no number pad.
Do I need TiviMate Premium for Vizwriting?
No. The free version of TiviMate plays every channel and shows the guide with a Vizwriting login. Premium is a paid upgrade sold by TiviMate’s developer that adds favorites, hiding groups, recording, multi-view and multiple playlists. Try the free version first and upgrade only if a favorites row or multi-view would change how you watch.
Can I use one Vizwriting login on the Firestick and my phone?
Yes: each device gets its own player, and both take the same details. A plan caps simultaneous playback rather than sign-ins, so with one connection the stick and the phone stay signed in but take turns. Two connections let them play together, at $25 for a month.
